For some reason people are ready to risk their lives for the CEO of Raytheon.

Aye, that they were!! And all those who followed in their footsteps. They knew the risks, and went forward anyway, because they believed it was the right thing to do. Hero’s in the very real sense of the word.

Where have they all gone? The World truly needs people like these today. I look around, and wonder what their sacrifice was for… The World today isn’t worth it.

My Dad had to deal with an oxygen fire on an aircraft when he was flying, so this hit him hard. Oxygen and lubricants are a dangerous combination.

This was the mission that Gus Grissom wanted to make up for the problems he experienced during the Mercury flight. They were all good and brave men.

As to outsourcing NASA work, face it, Obama is, in every meaningful sense, a Republican. As you say, outsourcing to their buddies is what they do; there’s no changing it.

Outsourcing the government is what Republicans always do, Kryten, so this is not a surprise to me with a Republican in the White House.

Privatization has never worked, and always ended up more expensive and less efficient, so they obviously have to continue to do it. 😈

I was just reading about the Whitehouse deciding to outsource NASA. Well, parts of it anyway. I guess there isn’t much left to outsource there. Mind, this is in the WSJ… so no idea how accurate this is. 😉
