Cats are matriarchal and they want a structure. As the junior, PK will be looking for her place, and hoping to improve it. Every time a new female reaches adulthood, everyone wants to test the structure.

They will settle it and things will return to normal.

After reading about her making the other cats cringe, I wonder which one of my kitties is the Alpha Prime. It seems there is a pecking order. I’ve noticed the princess being mean to Lady Fortuna, and I don’t like that ONE BIT! Any idea of how I would go about stopping that behavior, while still retaining her sweet temper?

Toms don’t like to get serious until after a display, but Molly just nails them without warning if she feels they are intruding on her authority. She’s a firm believer in first strike and preemptive claws.

And Molly clearly has attitude big time, she looks like she’s threatening to leave a horse’s head on your driver’s seat, or at least a mouse’s head ;).

And yeah, The Mighty Fang is the biggest cat in my household, but he is *not* the boss kitty… Mencken, with his disdain for idiocy and swift resort to whacking TMF’s nose with his paw if TMF gets uppity, takes alpha cat status big-time.

OTOH, her attitude towards other cats is rather dictatorial.

Looking at her face is a mistake, Jams. You need to focus on the paws of doom. She was born before Hurricane Opal in 1995 but she still strikes with lightning speed.

That is a typical Spring day, Ellroon, with the leaves from a water oak covering the driveway of crushed oyster shell. It is mid afternoon so the sun can penetrate the not quite re-leafed oak. Water oaks are evergreen, like live oaks, but the fallen leaves tend to be flat and supple, unlike the hard, cupped leaves shed by live oaks.

Molly decided to stop there and glare at me, as I had been trying to get a picture of her face. She doesn’t like treats, but the ones I had were useful for delaying the retinue.

Now, which episode was it that took place on that planet? <grin_duck_run />

Molly may be tough on other cats, but she surely is gorgeous.
