Isn’t that annoying?!!! My cats do that all the time! I take great photos, but they turn out bad because the cats know exactly when to turn. Ringo looks beautiful, as alwasys!

Somehow your complaint reminds me of a passage from a book I’m currently reading — The Upside of Irrationality by Dan Ariely. The author says that according to animal psychologist Glen Jensen, animals as diverse as “fish, birds, gerbils, rats, mice, monkeys, and chimpanzees” frequently prefer to “earn” their food by performing some non-strenuous task “rather than simply eating identical [and] freely accessible food.”

Among all the species tested so far, there was only one that was completely disinclined to work for their dinner when they didn’t have to. Guess who? (Hint: they have pointy ears and lots of attitude…)

The ferals are simple field cats and do not realize you are trying to steal their kitty souls with your devil box. They know nothing of LOLCats or ICanHazCheezburger.

It is truly annoying to be treated like this by the supposedly “domesticated” cats, while getting much greater cooperation from the “feral” cats. The ferals can exist without my doing anything, thanks to the rank stupidity of the doves. An all-dove diet might get boring, but it is readily available if I get hit by truck.

It is getting “dissed” by the crew that depends on my supplying them with a “clean rest room”, that generates my discontent.
