I assume that she will suck up to whoever moves in to see if she can get a better quality of cat food, without any competition.

Actually, the birds and squirrels are the lucky ones, because their lives would be a lot shorter without the kibble to keep the cats fed.

She hasn’t really integrated back into the family, and some of the family aren’t happy with her reappearance, so she has reason to be a bit cautious.

ace hardware here is just a shadow of its former self, but it’s still a better bet because they still do lean toward the 3 each of 100 items.

Ace hardware is what I’ve settled on over here. If they haven’t got it, they’ll get for me from somewhere in their network. Today it was the door hinges I’ve been looking for. Instead of 300 each of 3 items, they have 3 each of 100 items. Not what a contractor is looking for, but it works for rehabs. It is worth any additional cost to just zip in and zip out without “the march across Georgia” to even arrive at the plumbing department.

Dot takes about 6 months to get friendly after a move, but you really needed the room of a house, so congratulations on your new living quarters.

and i know what you mean about the big box stores. one of my many recent blogcation adventures involved moving me, the dog, and the tribe into a house — one that’s probably a twin of your mom’s houses [and we’re all a lot happier]. there wasn’t much wrong with this house when we moved in, but with houses of this vintage, it’s always something, so i’ve made a few trips to those stores recently.

i wrote all this here, instead of the previous post, because in all the hubbub of moving, it was my ‘lucrezia’ who provided much of the headaches. i captured and moved the ten other cats within the first ten days, but it took me 3 whole weeks to capture the tiger grrrl. i’m pretty sure she was relieved to finally be reunited with her family, but she hasn’t yet forgiven me [and i doubt she ever will] for the process it took to bring about that reunion.
