The Yukon Quest will be first if the economy doesn’t kill it. Both races are dealing with the loss of sponsors due to the economic downturn and the very unpredictable weather up that way.
]]>Oh, and it’s getting pretty cold in these parts and that means the Iditarod will be starting soon!
]]>I thank you, ma’am.
]]>Anyway, thank you, Bryan, for providing a great voice and writing so well. You are a joy to read and a great teacher.
]]>I appreciate it, Jams, although I think the guys I’m working with at the moment may wipe me out with their assistance.
We never get everything we might wish for on anniversaries, Mr. Duff.
Well, Kryten, it too set in my ways to change, and too stubborn to just quit, although I’m occasionally tempted.
Thank you, Elayne. I loved the stickers, especially the one about driving to Whole Foods.
Keep farming and cooking, Fallenmonk. Eating may be a rare pleasure the way things are going. You should look into “cornish game rabbit” dishes. Badtux has one for gumbo, but I usually burn the roux.
Thank you, Jim, I like new voices because different views offer the possibility of learning something new and avoiding stasis. I can’t promise that people won’t get attacked for different views, but I prefer to leave things as open as possible unless someone starts to attack people instead of their ideas.
Well, Steve, someone has to report on South Fundistan especially during our weather events.
Yes, Rook, I have been harassing you for more than 6 years through your upgrades. I just wish your commenting wasn’t such a pain to navigate, so I could harass you more often.
Of course I’d like to see you back at it, Jack, because you have a unique voice and cover an area of the world that is somewhat wilder than most of the country. Thank you for stopping by.
Ellroon, literacy is becoming endangered in this country, and that is more important than mere intelligence, but I thank you for the compliment.
Jill, I may not comment at a lot at your place or skippy’s, but you are sources for ideas, and not just for blogging. I appreciate the cards and aircraft tip offs.
Humor, Hipparchia? It is more likely Number 7. We are a rare type indeed along the coast.
You’re just saying that Kryten because I’m one of a handful of Americans who knows where Australia is. I spent four hours trying to explain to a friend of my Mother’s why her grandson at college in Australia was not overwhelmed by cold weather gear for Christmas. Maps, weather charts, and a white board were involved and things were progressing until we snagged on the concept of the International Date Line.
Again, thank you all for your kind wishes.
]]>Too true! 😉
Except of course that in a real Zoo, the animals are better cared for than you Citizens are by their masters! 😈 😛
For me, I don’t think of Bryan (or indeed many of the other regulars here) as having ‘political views’… It’s having something far more important. Being sane, being real, being honest, and giving a damn about others! It’s why I stop by here every chance I get. I’m busy *fighting my own fires* right now. This blog is the first place opened when I start Firefox when I get online. 🙂 I used to read TP a lot, but it always the same old bad news about something totally crooked or idiotic some moron in Gov has said or done. Same old… I only go there now when I have a specific reason to. *shrug* (Not saying TP is bad BTW, they do what they do very well and report the facts as they are.)
BTW… Nice to see you about again hipparchia! I was getting a bit worried there for a bit. I know you’ve had problems, I hope everything is OK now! 😀
Cheers!
]]>besides enjoying your brand of humor, i was thrilled to find that there’s at least one other person living in my neck of the woods with political views similar to mine.
