Believe it or not, I know exactly who Kenny Everett was because I used to watch his show on the public broadcasting station in Rochester, New York. They did British comedies on Saturdays, and his show was one of them. That was where I got hooked on Monty Python.

The new forms of transparent tape and the rubber glue that they use for the credit card forms play hell will all kinds of paper handling equipment. My Mother’s shredder will go through staples or the credit cards themselves without even slowing down, but if there is any tape or a wad of that rubber glue it just seizes up. Makes no sense to me, but I assume a mechanical engineer would spot the problem immediately. You have to pull it apart because the Reverse button just produces nasty sounds, almost as bad as a piston crunching a valve.

Now NSA had the machine for dealing with paper. You threw in a bag filled with classified documents and you got pulp for that gray light weight cardboard at the other end. At one point almost all US shoe boxes were made from NSA secrets. It was like pumping out a cess pit, and the paper companies paid for the pulp, so NSA actually made a profit on document destruction.

Before they went to the pulping process everything was burned, and some of the specialized papers released some nasty stuff when burned. You also had the ash to deal with. plus the cost of gas to get the incinerator to proper temperature. An expensive mess all around.

They have probably changed to some system that costs the taxpayers an outrageous amount of money. That’s what the “fiscal conservatives” always seem to do – rip off taxpayers to enrich campaign contributors.

Kryten, they’re family, and that’s the way the system is designed. It is one of the things that gives murders such a high clearance rate – more often than not it was a member of the family by birth or marriage. Murder by a stranger is an amazingly rare event, which is why they get all of the media coverage. The holidays are a very popular time for family murders because people get so stressed out, and, in northern climes, are suffering from light deprivation. There’s nothing like a booking area in a jail or an emergency room during December to see the “Christmas spirit”.

Congratulations, you made it through.

Yeah! That line get’s used a lot! Kenny Everett (a UK Comedian popular here in Aus in the 80’s) used to use it as a lone on one of his TV programs (The Kenny Everett Video Show) for one of the segments. Sadly, Kenny passed away about 14 years ago. I was sad when I heard. He was a great comedian (he was also a DJ, radio show host, and many other things! He was very versatile.) 🙂

Started as a good day, went downhill rapidly after they arrived (and I’m not joking). *shrug*Inconsiderate, selfish, ill-mannered…. I could go on… and on… 😐 😛

Actually, it’s my housemates birthday today! 😀 I just spent an hour fixing her paper shredder! Looks like some paper had something sticky on it. Had to dismantle it (that was fun!) But, it’s not gonna last long, one of the nylon gear’s teeth are worn down (she’s been using it pretty hard. Shredding lot’s of paper for packing material). 🙂

Anyway… hope everyone had a great day! 😀
