Oops, OWL, I missed your comment. I hope your kin are high and dry, if they did go back. The East Coast gets the tropical weather, and the South the worst of the fires. They also have some of the best climate, so there is always a trade off.

There’s another one coming, and this is like the end of July in our hurricane season, so they have another four months to put up with this.

You don’t wish hurricanes on anyone.

OT: Utah is a special case. There is a whole different dynamic between people and animals in the state, and they don’t always agree on who falls under the heading of “people”. They included “firing squad” as one of the methods of execution when they instituted their death penalty. Very weird place.

On topic, my heart goes out to those poor souls who were not only hit by serious storms but also have to live for an unknown period of time without power. Been there, done that, don’t want the T-shirt.

Completely OT, from Jonathan Turley, some Republican proposed legislation in Utah regarding killing feral animals:

... Oda is chief sponsor of House Bill 210 that would change the current law in order to allow the humane killing of feral animals. Two of the killing methods that Oda considers to be humane are clubbing and decapitation. ...

I'm not sure there's an action item here, unless you reside in Utah, but as such things sometimes become a trend among states, I thought you should know.

Good gravy, those poor Aussies. Mother nature seems to have it in for them, this year. My cousin might be living in Australia at this time. I know she and her family were there for a couple years, then came back to the states. There was talk that they would be moving back, last year. Which reminds me, I have a letter from her father, and I should open and read it.
