It turns out he hadn’t left town after all. He’d spent the day sobbing into his pillow that he hadn’t got raptured with the rest of the Christians, then *finally* got out of his bathrobe and slippers, put on some pants and a shirt, and answered the door. Upon being told that no rapturing had happened, he was, like, “I don’t know what I got wrong, I have to pray on this, I’ll talk about it more tomorrow” and shut the door.

I guess at 89 years of age, Caribbean tax shelter islands with no extradition treaties don’t look as good as when you’re a young man of, say, 65…
