The drought in Texas is putting out a lot of dry air over the Gulf into the Caribbean and is reducing development of storms despite very warm sea surface temperatures.

97 is only given a 10% chance of doing anything for the next few days.

Rina is set to hit the Yucatan unless the steering changes, but the current thinking is that it will make it to category 1 before it gets there.
