She actually did a lot of research for the Dragonriders, which is unusual when you are dealing with a fantasy world. She created ‘logically consistent’ fantasies, i.e. impossible things happen, but they follow rules so the reader can understand what’s going on.

]]>She was one of the authors that got my fascination with Sci-Fi started as a teen. I read “The Ship Who Sang” and then “Dragonrider”. I enjoyed the Brain Ship series, and the Dragonriders of Pern series, and several other books of Anne’s.
And so, another wonderfully creative & imaginative voice is silenced. 🙁
Still, she leaves behind a wonderful legacy, and she worked hard for several decades to give people a way to escape their troubles, if only for a short while. With heartfelt thanks, Rest In Peace Anne McCaffrey!
