It’s not like Canada isn’t being affected by the problems of the global changes, including a huge jump in wildfires and melting permafrost.

The Conservatives are owned by the energy companies. They hide it better than the US pols, but the influence is there.

Canada, another big emitter, certainly doesn’t help matters by leaving the Protocol.

And from where I sit, U.S. ratification seems unlikely. The U.S. is the 2nd biggest GHG emitter in absolute terms as a fraction of worldwide total emissions (China is on top) and the biggest per capita emitter (at 24.1 tons per capita, slightly surpassing Canada’s 23.2 tons per head and vastly surpassing every other nation).
