My Mother is given them occasionally, and while they help with a specific problem, there are withdrawal problems when the course is over.

Badtux, they are wearing a harness attached to an nylon pulling lead and a collar that is attached to a stainless steel cable system to prevent them from going on their own, and yet, they manage to escape every so often.

People worry about the dogs being in an unfamiliar area, and they worry about the possibility of a creature every bit as capable of killing as a wolf, but isn’t afraid of humans. The Musher is responsible for them. The major reason that mushers scratch after injuries is that they can no longer care for the dogs. There are vets at every checkpoint, but people get first aid. It is all about the dogs.

Cats don’t need the Alaska wilderness to disappear, they can do it in an efficiency apartment – they enter Cat Space at will.

I see what you mean about these dogs being treated better than some people. Lots of humans get left behind every day …
