Fortunately she didn’t hole up somewhere to heal, which is what the ferals do. She escaped tonight to see what the other cats in the house were eating, so I’m upping her rations to three cans/day.

Not being able to eat kibble is part of the problem. If I could just fill a dish, she would be able to eat whenever she wants to. I’m going to try soaking some Kitten Chow to see if that helps.

Since she’s back up to six pounds, it sounds like she’s getting better. Poor little girl. It sounds like she had one heck of a bad time.

At some point I will explain what happened, but I’m not ready yet. She will be safe, and much happier outside where she is in control. She won’t be able to climb trees or go above two feet, but things will move at her pace.

She has been quiet, but that will change as she starts to feel better. I hope I can get the outdoor area fixed up before that happens, or I will be using my Mother’s bathroom. 🙂

In reply to Badtux. She was at about 8 pounds in that picture, but weighed in at 4.5 when she went in for surgery. She's back up to almost 6 so she still has a way to go. She got up to 10 inside, but lost weight when she stayed outside by running at full tilt and climbing everything in sight. She is a small cat, especially in comparison to her 'kits'.
