His biggest problem was injuries. He won last year with Andy Schleck and Contador racing, and he is racing this year.

Schleck may never regain his form after a broken pelvis. and Contador was never an easy fit in a team. Sky didn’t exactly kill themselves this year, and are quite capable of a faster race, so people should realize that Wiggins won with a margin of over 6 minutes against the real competition and it could have easily been much more.

Scheck in injured (that’s the breaks – literally) but Contador is a cheat.I wonder how well he will perform without his chemical helpers.

Britain has had amazing success on the track in recent years but Wiggins is the first olympic track champion to be on the verge of Tour glory. I can see other British track cyclists making the switch in the coming years

Froome definitely looks like the next Briton in Yellow. and if there is more climbing next year, I expect Sky will give him the lead, because he had to wait for Wiggins on a couple of mountains.

Next year a few of those who were missing will be back, so it will be a tougher Tour. Wiggins, like Cadel Evans last year, has been on the verge several times, so this wasn’t a fluke. Sky has a great team assembled if they can keep it together.

Chapeau Wiggins and Chapeau Froome
