It’s not just the media. There’s a lot of Americans on the West Coast who are in denial too. I work with a lot of foreign-born people who don’t leave this enclave of sanity. When they do, they are baffled by the treatment they receive… about the restaurants where they wait to be seated and nobody will seat them, about the cops who pull them over for no reason they can fathom and ask to see their driver’s license before sending them on their way, etc. Of course, the fact that Indians can look either African-American (albeit with a bigger nose) or Mexican depending upon what part of India they came from has nothing to do with that, I’m sure… 😈
