I admit the Strunk rule makes things clear as to the intent of the writer to form a possessive, but old knowledge dies hard and slowly.

And so do I. Its consistency is less strain on my old man’s memory. 🙂

That was the rule I learned, and I staying with it.

I’m reminded of the T-shirt “The cost of living keeps going up … but most people seem willing to pay it.”

I check the Local Puppy Trainer every day to see if I’m in the Obits.
