]]>The Likud think that Iran is a soft target, just like they thought that Hezbollah would be an easy win. If you can’t defeat Hezbollah. you shouldn’t even consider taking on Iran.
Israel seriously pissed off Turkey, and that route was essential to an attack on Iran that targeted their nuclear sites. You need secure airspace for re-fueling going in and coming out. There is minimal chances of a successful strike and major chances of losing aircraft and crews. This is major league arrogance on display. The biggest problem with neo-cons is that they drink their own kool-aid.
]]>Ah. That explains all the saber-rattling about attacking Iran. NOT!
If the US has any international credibility, it is no thanks to Mr. GeeDubya or Mr. O. Perhaps there is some way our nation could have behaved worse under the circumstances, but I have difficulty imagining it.
]]>It is a natural tendency among incompetent leaders to attack people based on the odds of winning, rather than the guilt or innocence of the people involved.
People really do tend to forget that it was called the World Trade Center for a very good reason, i.e. a lot organizations from a lot of countries had offices there.
Not only have we lost our standing in the world community, but we have terrorized ourselves with ‘security theater’.
]]>This was the day we could have actually united the world and worked together to rid terrorists of places to hide. Instead we had the wrong type in power and they used it to create more terror, more war, more power, in a planned attack on a country innocent of the charges but rich in oil. I believe this imperialistic greedy misstep will mark the beginning of the United States’ fall from the status of a superpower and of being the ‘good guy’ policeman of the world.
And many of us have forgotten that it was not only Americans who died on 9/11; many other countries lost citizens.
That said, the US finally joined the rest of the world in experiencing a horrific terrorist attack. But I think we’re the only one who went out and attacked a bystander…..
