If they get sunlight, they definitely heat up. Both the warming and cooling times are slow, but they are popular during the winter afternoons, and summer mornings.

i considered that too, but i’d have to buy the wheelbarrow first. and then, because i have no storage space, i’d have to turn it into a planter in the front yard. although for halloween next year, a wheelbarrow full of eyeball plants by the front door would be pretty darn cool…

i was originally thinking of just getting a few of the large squares like lutu is lounging on, but some of my cats are incorrigible perchers so i should probably get some cinder blocks too.

The cheap way is to buy a small bag of concrete and put together a frame to make your own. One of my neighbors made all of her stepping stones that way – 1X2″ wood to create the squares, water, a wheelbarrow, a hoe, and a bag of concrete.

You can make them the exact size you want, and as thick as you want.

Oh, put the frame on garbage bags or a tarp so you don’t have to worry about killing the grass with the concrete.
