Ah, a ‘grinder’, two plates slipping by each other, which is better than one that snaps in a single jump. Grinders don’t cause as much damage or rate as high in the Richter scale, but they last longer and are move unnerving because of it.

Koshka may have been hearing it happen for a while, building to the point that we could hear it, so may not have reacted to the slow change. There are a lot of videos that show animals reacting to earthquakes before people do. When compared to the seismograph record it seems to indicate that they can sense the earliest signs of the event.

A 4.0 is a definitely a significant event in the old mountains of the Northeast.

No, not much is happening here, either, except for that minor earthquake that rattled teacups from the White Mountains to the Seacoast. I must say I was rather impressed by the sound that it made — a low growling sound like a high wind blowing between tall buildings.

Oddly, this didn’t even wake Koshka up, she who would usually be hiding under the bed at the sound of someone walking down the stairs.

In reply to hipparchia. Not quite yet, Hipparchia. There are treaty negotiations taking place concerning certain matters of ownership between Ringo and Ms Underhouse. Ringo needs to slim down and muscle up again before she takes over as she is at 9.5 pounds and a bit cramped from being inside. It will happen as her confidence returns.

Actually Kryten Joe Biden is a veteran of decades in the Senate, and is known for enjoying debates. He makes a lot of verbal mistakes when speaking, but has the intelligence to laugh at the errors and correct them as soon as they are pointed out, rather than doubling down and claiming ‘he didn’t say it’, ‘it was taken out of context’ or some other feeble excuse. As a result, no one ever tries to play ‘gotcha’ with him, it doesn’t work.

Ryan is a lightweight with very limited abilities, and debating isn’t one of them. He is known for being thin-skinned when questioned about anything. He believes is own press.

A number of people has seriously said that Biden had less trouble disposing of Ryan, than he had dealing with Palin, who was at least willing to duke it out.

Steve, the ‘debate’ took place in Nassau County on Long Island which sends Peter King to Congress. It has a lot in common with the Florida Panhandle. I’m not surprised Dr Stein got arrested. It is not a friendly place.

Hostility toward minor-party candidates seems to have reached a new high (or l0w): Dr. Stein and Ms. Honkala were arrested outside of last night’s presidential debate, apparently charged with breathing while existing in a public place. Hey, it’s probably the only way they’d ever get any publicity from an event sponsored by the CPD.

Maybe they should swap job's? ;) :lol:

All things ‘cat’ being considered m8… Count your self lucky she chooses to only sit on your wrist rest! She could be showing her displeasure in so many other ways that cat’s are so good at! 😈

It seems that Joe Biden did so well in the Veep debate, that Faux bobble heads are beside themselves…. Hmmm. Given that the bobble heads are usualy seen beside themselves… ehhh… never mind! Let’s say they are somewhat peeved. 😆

So… the Prez becomes a mindless drone in his debate, and Biden seems to have discovered some sort of ‘performance enhancing substance’ to substantially improve his usual performance. Either that, or they figured out a way to perform a ‘personality swap’! It’s just soooo bizarre! Oh, and Martha Raddatz shows that whilst real moderators and Journalists are now rare and endangered species, at least one still exists! 😀
