Carter and Clinton were both Southern Democratic governors which meant they were conservatives or they wouldn’t have been elected, but the Republican propaganda apparatus was already in place and working full-time.

After the final debate it is fairly obvious that Rmoney is Sarah Palin without lipstick on foreign policy.

Labor refused to back McGovern and that broke the bond between the Democrats and unions. Both have suffered, but labor more so.

They won’t admit it, but business has really suffered under Republicans, and Republicans created the massive deficits that they now think are so dangerous. The people don’t look at the facts, they just accept the propaganda they are fed.

Bubba Clinton was basically the second coming of Jimmy Carter but with the luck to preside over one of those rare technological revolutions that change the economy in ways good for companies and workers alike. And of course we know that O’bama is to the right of Dwight D. Eisenhower.

As for McGovern, his loss in 1972 was the end of the good times for American workers. Before then, when GDP rose, worker’s wages rose. After that loss, when GDP rose, workers’ wages stayed the same, but rich people got richer. It was as if, “okay, we’ve defeated liberalism once and for all, so we don’t even need to pretend anymore.” Yet Americans still vote for politicians who support raping workers in order to make rich people richer. Inexplicable.
