Follow the rules of the cult and you will magically be lifted out of your lousy existence.

The people pushing it are wealthy, so the marks assume that if they follow the program they will become wealthy. When it doesn’t work, blame the Other, the sinners that blocking ‘paradise’ from being realized.

If people actually learn how the world works they will realize it was a con, so you have to destroy the education system and belittle those who are educated.

How do people become so attached to an ideology that even its demonstrable deviation from fact does not sway them? Is it like religion?
