Not a Freudian slip, Kryten, but a typo I make constantly, and have to constantly correct in posts and comments. I type slower than I compose and since I know what I was thinking I keep overlooking the missing “n’t”. I should probably stop using contractions in writing to avoid the mistake, but it’s easier to type the way you speak.

It is nice when people recognize that you did something, but it has become a ritual around here, a hollow expression with no real meaning, especially coming from local politicians. Without the draft military service in the US has become marginalize, The antics of current and former generals just make the situation worse.

Thanks really are necessary, but those that deserve them will never ask for them, or say they want them. 🙂 Sadly, the kind of *thanks they truly deserve and need, they rarely get.

I understand what you meant to say Bryan. Yeah, same here. 🙂

PS. Cookie jill, I know you truly mean what you said. My comment is not meant for you, or others who truly care. But it seems you are part of a shrinking minority sadly.

Hey… you know, it’s been awhile since I posted a recipe for cookie goodness! 😀 And Christmas is nearing… In honor, I should dig another one out! Yeah, been too long! I’ll see what I can find in my Mom’s *book of magic* recipe’s! Ooooh… I feel hungry now! 😉 😀

War as an ongoing practice has become unsustainable, but with the profits it generates for one industry, America seems determined to keep on with it anyway. And so we descend, not in one giant conflagration as we imagined in our childhood, but gradually, into poverty and squalor and, most of all, endless violence.

Enough. No more war!

I would dump them on a rock in the middle of the ocean and never go back. We can put the clowns who don’t believe in climate change on the same island to ‘test their faith’.

Unfortunately, it will never happen as long as a current day Republican’s (or those who these days pretend to be Conservatives, such as our Liberal’s etc), or *True Believers* (of any faith or belief) draws breath, or while the MIC exists and people worship money above all else.

“The people who advocate wars should required to be in the front of the first wave going in.”

Yeah, I’ve said that for many years. Actually, I think the best would be to get the warhawks on both sides, stick them in the middle of the Simpson, or Sahara desert, give them all a knife and a canteen of water (hey, they have to have something to fight for!) Then after a year, go see who survived, and shoot them.

They want more drones that don’t have health care costs and don’t get pensions.

We can hope that sooner, rather than later, there will be no need for another generation to put on uniforms.”

A big Amen to that m8!!

I was what others did not want to be.
I went where others did not want to go.
I did what others did not want to do.

And then we come back after *saving the World*, and get royally shafted as thanks!

Anyone who joins the Military today, is crazy.

But my utmost respects to all Veterans, some of whom have paid a very heavy price for serving and protecting people who don’t deserve it.
