FUBAR tends to be stronger and more specifically targeted at something than SNAFU, which covers the constant daily annoyances, the mundane things that make people nuts. For example, Limbaugh saying something absurd is SNAFU, but the Romney campaign was FUBAR.

Meeeeehhh! I still prefer FUBAR (or, for those special occasions, ‘FUBAR! Big time!’ with a big thanks to the movie ‘Tango and Cash’, one of my fave’s!” 😆

Then again, my Grandfather always preferred SNAFU and wasn’t keen on FUBAR at all! Depends on the generation I guess. 😀
