This is essentially roofing tar that they use on flat roofs throughout the South, and what they mix with gravel to pave roads and driveways.
They are using high-pressure steam lines to force it to the surface for collection. Apparently they added too much pressure and it fractured the bedrock layer. It won’t stop until the pressure and heat are gone.
They already pipe this gunk to the Midwest, but they want to refine it and export it to Asia. No one on the Pacific Coast wants it, so they are going to build a pipeline across the US.
What they are doing in Alberta is another form of fracking.
In a way I feel sorry for that child. He will never know what he could have been, and sure isn’t going to have much chance to be a kid.

Had not heard one single thing about this. Just checked the MSNBC site. Nada. I sorta think this is news, apparently they don’t.
