The ‘cat burglar’ is really strange. I can’t imagine why s/he hauls that stuff home.

mine do that a lot too, which actually makes brushing tummies doable. sometimes they go into bliss mode and flop down into a purring puddle of cat fur, which is an iron-clad guarantee that they intend to attack the brush after a few strokes.

Cats are weird.

that’s the truth.

I can’t figure out the pattern, or what sets it off.

Excise will ‘walk’ through the brush, rather than sitting still, but there is absolutely no contact with his tummy allowed.

Cats are weird.

none of mine sleep like that, possibly because there’s always somebody waiting to pounce…

i’ve got two of the fluffy ones so that they’ll let me brush their tummies some, but i only use a large heavy-duty brush because they go from blissed-out to full attack mode in a nanosecond. no way are any of them ever going to let me clip any matted fur, but i can sometimes brush them just enough to keep the mats under control during shedding season.

The ones that do, well, like you say, it’s a trap! I notice that the cats that sleep like that tend to be somewhat… uhm… “big-boned”? :).
