We are freezing and you are running out of water. Our tourist economy is going down the tubes with your agriculture, and people still claim there is no problem.
]]>Which is the problem. It is supposed to be 55F and rainy here, this time of year.
This is going to be a dry year for the Central Valley…
]]>They are working dogs, they want to move, not sit around.
I, too, am truly tired of the constant roller coaster of this winter, Hipparchia [and no touch typist need to be a cryptanalyst to recognize a single key shift]. They are calling for a serving of ice pellets locally, just for a change.
]]>It’s pretty rare that I am both truly disgusted, and pleasantly surprised by people simultaneously. It’s kinda difficult to process. *shrug*
I’ll find out from the Manager when I go there next and a few day’s or so. Should be interesting. 🙂
*sigh* There are days when I truly hate Human’s, and I wish I was back in my old job.
]]>The real danger on the roads is the clowns in the SUVs that think that 4WD will eliminate all of the slipping and sliding. They end up in the ditches, but they may take others with them.
]]>The weirdest experience I ever had bicycling to/from work was about two decades ago. When I biked to work; there was no precipitation. It snowed while I was at work. The real challenge was when it iced over just before my bike ride home…
But really… snow?… Houstonians did NOT sign up for this!
]]>If the power had stayed out I would have executed him on the spot, and not just because his horn was stuck on and he did nothing about that. Given the time, the chance that he wasn’t drunk was near zero. With no other cars on the road and six lanes to drive in, hitting a light pole is a rather strong clue.
If it’s really cold and a dog goes through the ice, you haul him/her out and they shake a couple of times and they are dry. At 20° and above you have to stop and start a good fire, because the undercoat will get wet. You have to dry out to continue or hypothermia will take over. That undercoat is also the reason the dogs need cold temperatures, because it’s like a down parka and just traps heat.
]]>Those poor dogs…
