Froggy is one of the few ferals that has ‘volunteered’ to be friendly with people, which is very rare, since she did it as an adult.
]]>given that she’s already notable for her purr, who needs extra toes to stand out from the crowd?
]]>the “killing them” part is what i objected to, and how i became a crazy cat lady practically overnight. it’s hard enough knowing that a number of them will fall prey to dogs, coyotes, hawks and cars, but i could have lived with that. i sure wasn’t going to do the “return” part of tnr with a poisoner living in the neighborhood though.
]]>TNR is the only effective control on feral cats. Would that more people understood that, instead of just trapping them and killing them. Actually the biggest control would be if everyone who wasn’t intentionally breeding cats would get them neutered, the problem would be greatly reduced.
I checked at dinner and Froggy has only four ‘fingers’. It is a black spot, not a ped.
]]>apparently they’ve had feral cats forever, but only recently have started a trap-neuter-return program. and yes they hide in the daytime and come out at night, on their own.
]]>Oh, Disneyland is in California – the Mouse lives in Disney World in Florida.
]]>I just read an article that included a comment that Disneyland FL has some 200 feral cat’s that are released every night. Apparently, they chase away various pests to keep the park free of annoying rodents etc. when it opens in the morning. It didn’t say how the cat’s were rounded up after their night’s work however… lured back with food perhaps? *shrug*
Things one finds on the ‘net! 😉 😀
]]>I should know tomorrow if she has an extra index ‘finger’ on her right ‘hand’.
]]>isn’t the internet great?
