The people in the village felt that the scientists should have been able to tell them exactly when and where that earthquake would take place. No mention of the local officials in a known earthquake zone pushing local people to retrofit their houses and businesses to withstand earthquakes. Unreenforced masonry buildings on a mountain top in an earthquake zone is not a recipe for a long life.

Have you seen this Bryan? Just when we think the World couldn’t get any crazier… But, this is Italy after all. *shrug*

The Aftershocks

“Seven of Italyโ€™s top scientists were convicted of manslaughter following a catastrophic quake. Has the country criminalized science?”

The World really is getting more insane by the day!

So much for the ‘public option’, that would have been too much to expect from Zero, and I expect the state of Florida would have done everything possible to block it.

I expect little from Florida elections and am rarely disappointed. I spend more time concentrating on the referendums these days.

Sunday was absolutely miserable. Nothing was moving around here, with good reason, as the heat index peaked over 120. At least the wind has picked up and the humidity eased off.

The same high that caused the heat wave is pushing the hurricane away from the coast. We had a possible in the Gulf which was pumping in the humidity, but it got pulled ashore, and there is another wave coming from Africa, but it is dealing with dry air off the Sahara, so this season would appear to be a break.

The Pacific is where all the action is located this year.

yes, I’ve been away from the internet. thanks to obamacare, I can either afford to communicate with the outside world, or I can avoid the wrath of the irs by giving my few spare dollars to the robber barons of the “insurance” industry. yay.

incumbent jeff miller is wiping the floor with his primary challenger. yay.

Charlie crist is going to make history by being the first politician to run for governor as both a republican and a republican a democrat. yay.

on the bright side… the latest heat wave has eased up a bit, and the newest hurricane is headed out into the atlantic.

The other pages see them and won’t overwrite them. This means I can upload them, but I can’t activate them.

WordPress wants my account and password for my SFTP to work their ‘magic’ and I’m not going to hand that out to anyone, especially on an insecure web page.

Oh, for some reason the ‘http://’ was lopped off the front of that link. It works now.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the austerians which features poverty and unemployment for the people who actually create assets for a nation. Toyota obviously wanted nothing to do with Abbott’s policies. They can’t have been thrilled by watching their customers being driven into poverty.

I didn’t vote for anyone named Abbott today, and I’ll make a note of not doing it in the future. ๐Ÿ˜‰

http://sallymcmanus.net/abbotts-wreckage/

It’s a long list. Up to 277 now. Though, I think a few are somewhat redundant. Still… *shrug*

I wish Abbott was in Texas Steve. Except I’d feel sorry for Texans. Even rednecks.

Actually, I have a few Texan’s following my Pinterest boards. They seem sane. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€

Removing the part before “sallymcmanus.net” makes it work.

What is it with officials named Abbott? When I saw the headline, my first thought was “Why is Kryten42 interested in Texas politics?”

But my needs are different from yours. Still, of the free ones, this looked good. A bonus is that they keep it up to date with the latest WP, and it’s said to be already compatible with WP 4.0 ๐Ÿ™‚

Anti-spam by CleanTalk (No CAPTCHA)

And this one was interesting. It was the simplest to install and use. (they have a free and “PRO” version):

Good luck with the election. I wish we were having a Federal election! The sooner the better. Here’s Abbott’s track record in less than a year:

Tracking Abbott’s Wreckage

I can’t honestly see how much longer he can last! He has already broken at least 2 (and maybe 3) International Laws (and unlike the USA, we are a signatory to the World Court)!
