I’m not sure the broom would have been enough if she had really meant to back up her opinions with action, but it was all that was handy at the time.
]]>The broom was a good idea because once they get into the hissing/growling mood, almost anything could set them off. Female cats are very territorial and are less likely to back down than males.
]]>it certainly gets you a reputation for being a character. the home inspectors came out, found some things, the home repair people came out, fixed some things, and the home inspectors came out again to ok the repairs… the lucrezia kitty stalked them all, the entire time, and I stalked her the whole time, carrying a broom, just in case she decided to escalate the curses, hisses, and growls to actions involving teeth and claws.
possibly my trust in her is displaced, but I don’t worry overmuch about anybody breaking into the house while she lives here. 😉
]]>Hadley now lives with the ‘rope’ man, and has even been seen with a collar for short periods. When food is being dished out he ignores people who stroke him. He has figured out the relationship between humans and food, and will be your BFF – OK, not Forever, but as long as the food keeps appearing.
Living with a Lucrezia builds character, Hipparchia, and improves first aid and home repair skills 😉
]]>Hadley appears to have a bit less animosity toward the human race than does my lucrezia Borgia kitty.
