There are a lot of young people today who really have no way out poverty. The US is coming apart.
]]>Personally, I’m surprised there are not more mass shootings. This society is building up pressure like a steam boiler with the fire turned up to “Max”, between the 1% pulling the legs out from under the middle class, a growing immigrant class with no rights, and the destruction of public higher education turning college into just another way to put people into bonded servitude for the rest of their life with non-dischargeable debts. Throw in massive amounts of guns and massive amounts of violent propaganda and only running the world’s most fearsome police state, with more people behind bars both in absolute number and as a percentage than any other state on the planet, has kept the lid on it so far. I’m not sure how long that can continue though. We’re already seeing steam coming out of the seams, it’s only a matter of time before the boiler bursts unless something is done to remove the pressure…
]]>I personally suspect ‘suicide by cop’. All of the recent mass shootings have been young men who just weren’t fitting in, and decided to make people sorry for not realizing how wonderful they were. If you can’t find any links to a wider group, they should classify the names and force the media to focus on the victims.
]]>I haven’t said anything about the Tennessee shooting because thus far I just don’t know enough to have anything to say that hasn’t already been said. All the usual suspects are using it to redouble their efforts to deport all Muslims to where they came from (America, in the case of Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez), and the usual “they died because they didn’t have guns” (nevermind that in a drive-by shooting like this, you wouldn’t have time to bring a gun to bear before being shot down), versus “they died because we have too *many* guns” that always happens when we have one of these things. None of which adds anything to understanding why this happened.
