It is the humidity that is making it so oppressive, even with a breeze under the trees drinking tea. The water temperature in the Gulf is in the mid 80s, so taking a swim doesn’t help.

Quite acceptable with a fan blowing.

I just can’t believe those temperatures, and they are definitely deadly. Yes, I noticed that we aren’t getting the change that I was used to. It seems that we are stuck with long static periods that lasts weeks instead of days.

I’ll still complain about Houston, though. It’s not just the heat AND humidity… it’s the duration. We’ve had high 90°sF or low 100°sF for two continuous weeks, no interruptions and NO RAIN, at least not here at Our House.

I keep finding reasons not to go outside, but of course you can only do that for so long before, e.g., hunger draws you to the grocery store. It’s a good thing we have a place to live and a working a/c; I’d hate to face this on the street. Houston always loses a few homeless people every summer to extreme heat; I believe that number is higher than usual this year… damn it.
