]]>I read GHWB’s take on why he didn’t go into Baghdad after Saddam, back in the mid 90’s. He pointed out that if we’d done that, we would have owned it and be stuck in the same quagmire that Britain had been stuck in during the 1920’s when they tried to own Iraq. Too bad Rummy, Cheney, and Sonny didn’t listen to Poppy. Hubris is believing history doesn’t apply to you. They had it in spades.
