I don’t know if this is useful to you (or anyone), but if you still use Win 7, M$ have released an update (they call a “Convenience rollup”). It includes all post SP1 updates until April 2016. Only problem is that is only available via the old MS Update Catalog which requires IE to grab. It’s about 480 MB (for the x64 version).

I meant to post about this over a month ago. Got delayed. I was just reinstalling W7 and remembered.:)

NB. If you use an updater like WSUS, AutoPatcher etc., they will update automatically.

I took out the GWX update a couple of weeks ago and revoked all of M$ privileges for putting things on my computer after they attempted to sneak it by me. I just found them trying to get the 2952664 by as an optional but recommended update.

Not much happening and I was watching the first tropical event in a long time hit Florida.

Anhow, regarding this topic… There is also the Get Windows 10 (GWX) update KB3035583.

Steve Gibson (GRC) has a tool that legally & legitimately gives the user control over whether they want to upgrade Win7 or 8.1 to Win10. No installation of any software is needed, it makes the required changes to the W7/8.1 system. More info & d/l here:

Note: I’ve not been a fan of Gibson for some historical reasons. But this does what he says. I tried it on my W7 system a couple weeks ago, and no problems since.
