It really needed to be the first few generations of trust-funders to be real jerks. If they actually had to work in the family business they were better than the schmucks who never did anything. I had a roommate who sent his laundry home in a special shipping container to be washed and ironed. That was so he wouldn’t have to learn how to use the machines in a laundromat.

The big donors are not giving to the Trump campaign. He may have to stick to the limits of public financing to get matching money. That would burn. Republicans are calling for the Republican National Committee to spend its money in House and Senate races and not on the Presidential race.

I’m not sure I’ve heard that one Bryan… But I did use the “All hat, no Cattle!” line a lot during the Shrubbery’s reign. 😉 😀

I wonder how much the GOP or their “big money” paid Trump for this? Though, I’d be amazed if any of them actually even like him, given most of them have sued him! 😉 😀

With rare humility, Trump concedes he could come up short

LMAO

Many of them were gracious and caring people. But there was also more than a few Trumps there too.

Badtux is absolutely correct that many/most of the trust-funders expect other people to pick up the check. I had them for clients in SoCal and classmates at Colgate.

These people assume that if you ever get paid it was too soon and the privilege of working for them should be more than enough compensation. The clown demands that you pay him for putting his name on your structure.

He grifts because it’s fun. He grifts because that’s what grifters do. He could have lived the life of an honest rich boy, living on his inheritance, but that would have been boring. I attended an “elite” prep school for a couple of years where I got to know a lot of people like The Donald. They did things just because they could. You had kids whose mom and dad had more money than Fort Knox, and they’d bum lunch money off of you and never pay it back because that’s just how they were. The teachers had to keep everything under lock and key because otherwise all these rich kids would steal them blind. Same kids who boasted of weekend trips to Mexico to buy ‘ludes and other drugs, mind you. No shortage of money. They were just rotten, and did the kinds of things that rotten people do.

Reminds me of one of those trust fund kids I knew who, as an adult, decided that “Breaking Bad” was a documentary, a suggestion of what his new career should be, rather than a warning. He’s currently serving 5 to 10 in Oklahoma for cooking / selling meth. Not because he needed the money. His dad still refuses to turn the trust fund over to his 40 year old kid because the kid is a deadbeat, but the kid still earns plenty off of his trust fund. No, it’s just because that’s what he does, because pretending to be a crime lord was fun until it wasn’t. In this case the law caught up with him and all his daddy’s lawyers couldn’t keep him out of jail. Maybe that’ll straighten him out, maybe not. But Donald Trump never had any stint in jail to straighten him out, he’s just rotten to the core and always was, always will be.

I haven’t posted one of my many quote’s for awhile. So I’ve been thinking… I don’t think I’ve posted this one here, and I believe it’s quite appropriate. 😉

“He’s about as much use as a chocolate tea pot.”
— Delboy talking about Rodders, in ‘Only Fools and Horses’

I also thought of “About as useful as tit’s on a snake!” But the attribution is uncertain. Still… 😉 LOL

One of my favorite Americanism’s comes to mind: “All hat, no cattle!”

That should tell even a moron everything they need to know! He basically cheated them all, just robbed them, even his banks! The guy makes other politicians honest by comparison.

His honesty, ethics & business acumen is zero. Seems the USA has many extraordinary morons!

Now that he has screwed up the Miss Universe franchise with his xenophobia, where is he going to find his next wife?

Most of his dealings with money over the years have been for self-entertainment rather than self-enrichment. He could have simply put all his inheritance in a mutual fund and lived off the returns. But what fun is that?

I think he’s having a blast right now, and when he loses in the fall, he will simply say the game was rigged against him yada yada yada and go on to another scam. He already has pocketed millions of dollars of campaign funds by funneling campaign purchases to companies he owns and overpaying for everything he’s purchased, meaning profits that go straight back into his own pocket. When that grift is over, there’s always another grift waiting. After all, he’s already managed to convinced tens of millions of Americans that he’s their savior. Talk about ripe plums ready for plucking!

He is a net loser because of his ventures.

He says whatever he is thinking at any given time. He never pauses … he jjust spits it out.
