That is the basic problem – you can’t satirize a satire. we have left reality so far behind that people can’t no longer tell the difference. You have the New York Times quoting the Onion as a source ?!?!

Oh come on, we still have political satire here in the United States. It’s called the evening news. It’s to the point where I have to double-check whether I’m watching CNN or The Onion. I mean, c’mon. A reality TV host as the Presidential candidate of a major political party? Who could ever believe such a silly thing as that *wasn’t* satire?

I don’t think cares one way or another, but he should know that bringing up LGBT tolerance as the sign of “a real American” is not going to help turnout among the Christianists.

Agreed, Kryten, no one has a sense of humor. People get annoyed at me when I point out that ‘terrorists’ coming ashore in Cinco Bayou would have the shelf life of the last hush puppy at a fish fry – it is measured in nanoseconds. The locals woulds would wipe them out before the Sheriff, Special Forces or Special Ops could get here. The Coast Guard or Florida Marine Patrol might make it before the end. They would probably land out of turn at the boat launch and get beaten to death with boat hooks before stepping on shore.

Australia is one of the few places that still have political satire.

Told you Bryan, we are going down the crazy rabbit hole right behind the USA. *shrug*

It was only a decade ago when guys dressed as Arabs (and Osama in particular) went through security checkpoints to get to Shrubberies Hotel here in *Austria*, & were caught doing an illegal U-Turn! Still LMAO.

Now, that would be a really bad idea! We have lost all sanity, reason and our vaunted sense of humor. *sigh*

I don’t think Trump himself has any personal animosity against gay people. They have money and they spend it and that’s pretty much all Trump needs to know about people. Half his beef with Muslims, I sometimes suspect, is that they don’t drink booze in his casinos…
