You don’t get to the top of the food chain by being Mr. Nice-Guy. Bears are going to go for the food. Maybe it will be in a dumpster, but dogs, cats, and people can also be protein sources. People are so stupid that the local university actually had to post signs telling people not to let bears into the buildings and not to swim or fish in the retention ponds because of alligators. I suggested a three credit course, Survival 101, that you pass by not getting killed or injured by the fauna on campus. The administration was not amused.

We have the same problem here in California with black bears. We have too many bears for the habitat, but the do-gooders have outlawed most methods for hunting them, so even if we did have enough hunters to do the culls, they’d have to throw rocks at the bloody bears to kill’em.

Over population is a growing problem with the deer in the Northeast. There aren’t as many people hunting, so the herds are outgrowing their habitat. The natural predators are all gone, so it’s up to man to deal with it.

It is nearly impossible to find an animal from Australia that won’t kill you in one or another gruesome fashion.

And if you annoy one, they will rip you open from throat to lower abdomen. They also breed like rabbits and will strip a thousand acres of grassland/farmland in a season!

Have fun! 😉 😀

Mind you, the meat is excellent! Super lean & no cholesterol. 😀

A necessary evil – the kangaroo cull

I went on a massive cull when I was in the Army. It was a mercy. They’d eaten everything, during a bad drought. Just skin & bones. 🙁 I hated it, but it really was necessary.

Turns out they like to drink, fight, and have a bad habit of breaking into homes and cars to steal CD’s by Australian bands.
