The electric company for the Florida peninsula, Florida Power & Light, is building solar/gas generating stations. In a lot of places you can chose to pay more and get power from ‘green’ sources. The power companies don’t have a surplus. Solar is most effective when it is most needed – the hottest part of the day.

Yes, we are losing our reefs, but not as quickly as the Great Barrier Reef, which is a world treasure.

Businesses have already adapted to the Paris agreement. No one is going to use coal unless they have to.

Interestingly, one of your rep’s (Rep. Carlos Curbelo) & I think a couple others in Florida, are tweeting & speaking against Trumps Paris decision and even for clean/renewable energy! A good sign. Though, given his district is the southern tip of Florida, he has a very vested interest in climate change! 😉 😀

He, and other’s like McCain are telling our toddler-in-charge, Turdbull, that he needs to do something about our Great Barrier reef which is quickly dying, as is Florida’s.

I doubt either toddler will listen of course. *shrug*

At the moment central and south Florida could use a tropical storm or hurricane to stop the wildfires caused by the drought. Swamps burning is not a good thing. Of course, in a few decades the Gulf of Mexico will become the Bay of Mexico as the Atlantic and Gulf flow over the Florida peninsula.

The US place in the accord has been filled by a coalition headed by billionaire and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.

If a Katrina level event struck, US would be FUBAR (especially in a Dem State)! If it does happen, hopefully it'll be in a major GOP State! (Errrr... not Florida. You have enough grief!) ;) :D I've never seen politicians & citizens of the USA move so fast as they are after POTUS killed the Paris Accord (which will take 1 or 4 years to actually cancel). The new French President has announced that US climate scientists are welcome in France. Macron introduced a new slogan “Make our planet great again” – impeccable English and snark – a formidable European leader.

Shirt, it is looking more and more like Mueller is looking at money laundering as well as election tampering. Trump’s lawyers all seem to have Russian ties. This going get nasty and people are going to start cutting deals to save themselves.

Yes, isn’t that a joy, Badtux. He should have kept Craig Fugate at FEMA. He was Florida’s head of emergency operations for years under Dems and Reps. He knew what he was doing.

I think the withdrawal from the accord is going to be a nothing-burger.

Why?
Blue states are already voicing strong disagreement. Interestingly red states appear to pollute more CO2 than blue.
The withdrawal process can take one or four years. If the later, a new president will blow of the fake president. In the case of the former the world people will blow off American goods and services just like they are blowing of Tourism now. (Boom go the jobs!)
