That would definitely make a difference as it takes place on different frequencies from the standard cell signals.

I don’t know if it matters, but I’m using a Verizon JetPack as a WiFi interface. I think that uses Verizon’s own wireless network rather than the doubtless overloaded cell towers.

The outer band is currently dumping rain on me, Badtux, but only in inches, not feet.

I’m amzaed you can still get a cell signal, Steve. I would have expected cell towers to be down from power outages.

Well, at least it’s slowly moving away from Houston, it’s been sitting over Houston pounding it with rain for days now!

Of course, as it spins apart bands of rain are streaming ashore everywhere to the east of it. Looks like you’re about to get some of that….
