It is a bit weird sleeping without the sound of the air conditioner, but I can deal with it, especially when I get my electricity bill.
I wish I could ship at least half of the rain I’ve gotten the last couple of years. It is turning the succulents into mush.
]]>In each area of Florida there is a local monopoly which you attach to or sit in the dark. Customers have zero bargaining power. If you install solar you have to be connected to the grid and can’t use the power if the grid is down. Somewhere along the way all of that Republican talk about competition has disappeared.
You have a much better deal while it still exists.
]]>My electricity bill over our long winter was about $130/mth. Now that I’ve not used heating for about 2 months, it’s back to a reasonable $68/mth. Both are with a 42% “pay on time discount”! The discount only covers usage, not “the service to the property” charge of about $36/Mth! Damned crooks. Though, they did just give me a $50 “loyalty credit” for being with them a year. Apparently they give everyone the credit after a year. Woo… hoo. *sigh* Most people don’t seem to get that if an energy supplier can offer 42% discount, obviously people are being screwed! It was a standard 32%, but I know the trick… I changed supplier & they called & offered an extra 10%! We have a 10 weekday cooling off period before changeover. Also, the companies have to guarantee price & discounts for 2 years. So every 2 years, we do the ring-around dance! The LNP is trying to scrap that 2 yr guarantee of course! Bastards that they are! Amazing how many people don’t get it or do it. *shrug*
]]>Well, there’s nothing for it but to hope that the bathroom is finally warm. I’m a bit too gamey to put off a shower.
]]>The bureau says there’s a 90% chance of rain in my area! But not a cloud in sight! Though we have a saying here “If you don’t like the weather, wait an hour!” It changes quickly here. 😀
Good luck guys! The weather is insane & all but unpredictable these days!
]]>Stay warm. The wind in the mountains cut right through you.
]]>I think most Governors must take an IQ test before they are allowed to run, and they’re eliminated if they rise above a certain level. Because they might do pesky things, like complex thinking. No telling what they might get up to with a few original thoughts.
]]>Flags, drum beats, and bugle calls were how the military communicated before radio. If you have never been around the military there is no reason for you to know, but Trump has claimed knowledge that he just doesn’t have.
]]>In other news, I see your governor has declared a state of emergency before the Spencer speech at the university.
