That’s the usual *smoke and mirrors* from the GOP. It doesn’t rescind the order detaining people at the borders. I suspect the plan is to detain the entire families but now it will seem the lesser evil and not so bad.

I have no sympathy for Melania. She is a hypocrite in too many ways. Four First Ladies (Rosalynn Carter, Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, and Michelle Obama) got together to condemn the practice strongly. Melania was invited to join them but was conspicuously absent.

Now is the time he should ask for Steven Miller's resignation, as Miller was the prime mover for the policy. He also looks like Count Orlok from Nosferatu, so it is time for him to take his coffin to Faux News. Melania did make a statement decrying the separation, but then went the "both sides do it" route. As the First Lady and an immigrant she had standing to do a hell of a lot more... assuming she still sees and talks to her husband.
