In reply to Badtux. Eglin is the home of all airborne weapons testing and has ranges in three counties as well as a national forest within the base perimeter. You do not leave the roads or trails. I have a friend who has done multiple archaeological surveys on the base, and the teams are always accompanied by EOD teams to clear "obstacles". They surround sensitive areas with ditches and berms to stop vehicles, and sensors to track people. If you do something that generates a response, it will not be polite and people have been shot.

Regarding the chain link fences around military installations, we have them only on the parts of military installations near roads here out West. You can accidentally wander onto the military base if you’re hiking nearby. Hell, I’ve done it deliberately taking a shortcut when I decided I was too tired to skirt the boundary (statute of limitations is expired and besides see 18 U.S. Code § 1382, all they could have done was remove me from the base, which I was in the process of doing by myself anyhow). Probably someone saw me on their remote video cameras (the sensors are useless, because burros are the same size as humans and I followed the burro paths). They weren’t going to put someone in a Humvee to come fetch me given that by the time they got there I’d be off the base anyhow.

Of course, the main reason to respect the base boundaries is the amount of unexploded ordinance on the firing ranges!

Giuliani was a Federal prosecutor, so it is burned into his brain that all defendants are guilty, even if he is supposed to be defending them. Congress, at a minimum is going to see the unredacted report, because they will issue subpoenas to see it and Mueller is too careful not to be squirreling away “insurance” copies of the various sections. Mueller will be called to testify by Congress, and he has a right to “his notes”. Congress will make it public, no matter what Trump does, and anything Trump does to stop it will just count as additional charges. As Dusty Springfield sang it’s “Wishing and Hoping”.

Being involved in international money laundering does not qualify you to be President of the World Bank, and this may be the first time an American choice won’t be elected. Trump’s record on international finance brings into question any decision he might make on the matter, and everyone agrees that Treasury Secretary Mnuchin is an ignorant twit from a wealthy, connected family who inherited a job at Goldman-Sachs.

One of my clients in SoCal was the civil engineering firm that designed the commercial port of entry for San Diego county. The purpose of the barriers were essentially traffic control to streamline the process. The real work of border control was handled by other means in the area that were not immediately visible, and therefore not readily avoidable.

The chain link fences around the local military installations are for safety more than security. They keep you from encountering the actual security features. You and I would notice the ditches and berms to prevent vehicle penetration, but the sensors are difficult to locate even if you know they are there.
