I’m happy as long as she is in the top 10. Allen finished ahead of Michelle, so he can go home. [There is a major rivalry between Michelle & Allen’s SO Aliy Zirkle normally fought out in the YQ 300]

Brent has a good feel for puppies and major racing bloodlines in his kennel. The pups paid for their steak by coming in first.

I’m with you – more people have climbed Mt Everest than have finished the Yukon Quest, so I would definitely put it on my resume/CV if I had done it.

But I bet they are ready for a good long rest and lots of meat! They were loving that steak Brent was throwing at them. Hard to believe, but Brent said that eleven of the dogs were rookies! Dang. Only three had raced before. That’s a testament to his ability to select dogs and get the best out of them.

Paige came in at 6th place. I didn’t realize she was married to Cody until you mentioned it. She will get the bragging rights this evening, but he’s in a respectable position midway. Heck, if I could even finish a trip like that, I would never let anyone forget it! lol. But no one would ever catch me out in those temperatures. It’s sleeting here today at about 30 degrees, and I feel drafts. The temperature in the house is over 70, but my feet stay cold anyway. Oh well, they’ll warm up by April…

Jessie is now in 9th place with enough of a lead that she’ll probably come in at that minus any hiccups in the 50 miles she has left to go.

I saw them on the YQ Facebook page and they looked ready to keep going.

Cody needs to step up his pace to catch his partner – Paige is the competitive half of their team.

If you go over to the listing and put the cursor on a team, you will see their ‘doggy icon’ jump.

Jessie is up to 10th which is where I’m used to seeing her.

It looks like the Malamutes and Greenland dogs will bring home the Red Lantern

Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Second place is up for grabs according to the live tracker. If it’s accurate (and sometimes I know it’s not), then Allen Moore, Hans Gatt, and Michelle Phillips are all at the 843 mile point. Although, the doggy icon isn’t showing her there, the list has her at the same mile point. I guess we’ll find out as the day progresses which is correct.

Paige Drobny is not far behind either. Don’t know why I thought she had scratched earlier, but it looks like she’s going to do quite well. She and Matt Hall are together, so looks like they’ll be at the number 5 and 6 spots. We might have two of the women in the top 5 spots. That’s cool.
