this is actually why I quit using twitter. I do still miss it (the good old days of it, anyway), but since it appears to have turned into quite the cesspool since then, I guess I’m glad I’ve disconnected. I think…. 🙁

Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud is now the 2nd largest Shareholder in Twitter, more than CEO Jack Dorsey. Other’s in SA also own shares, mostly through proxies, so nobody seems to know exactly how much of Twitter SA owns. SA accounts for about 40% of Twitter users, so it’s understandable. The Prince has also been slowly increasing his original stake of 3% since 2011.

The past 6 Months or so, twitter appears to have made a concerted effort to silence critics of Trump. Many accounts critical of him have been *shadow* banned and many other tweets have mysteriously been immediately deleted without any reason given (I did a series of tests and found that it was keyword based). However, I cannot say it was deliberate. T support has been overwhelmed the past two years with millions of complaints of inappropriate tweets etc. So, they tried to create an “expert system” (many erroneously refer to as an AI) to help cope. A month ago, I had a few tweets suddenly vanish that had the words “terrorist” or “terrorism” and “RWNJ” or “Trump” or Dotard” or “GOP” removed. So, I replaced “o/O” with * and that *fixed* it.
