Trump’s re-election is taking a hit from the totally FUBAR reaction of the Mango Moron to the virus. Trump isn’t leading, he is reacting to the actions of the stock markets, the states, and the professional sports leagues who are taking the threat seriously. As you say, I wouldn’t put this past the CIA under Reagan or the Bushes, but the US has backed down based on the reaction to the Bush/Cheney lies to support the Iraq invasion. We also tightened up controls after the anthrax threat under W.

there are a lot of conspiracy theories, as expected. Seems the main one for now, and being pushed by China, Iran & Russia (big surprise) is that the US Army infected China with COVID-19 during the October 2019 17th CISM Military World Games in Wuhan. 15-20+ years ago I could see that as a possibility… But now, with GOP/Trump? Doubtful, for a long list of reasons. Although, the US Military & CIA have largely been left alone & do plan long term. Regardless, I’ve not heard nor seen any evidence to support any of the conspiracies floating around, though I’m out of the loop these days. *shrug*
