I’ve never encountered a long line at my polling place because I can look down the road to see if there is anyone in the parking lot and wait until it’s empty.

I did early voting once, it is was at a very inconvenient location, so I gave it up. I was checking to see if it would be more convenient for my Mother, but it was worse.

yep, i got something in the mail from my supervisor of elections about mail-in voting at about that same time, and all the poll workers at my polling place are usually retirees too.

the only time i can ever remember standing in a loooooooooong line to vote was during early voting, so i’ve only tried it one other time (which went reasonably well, but still…).

My supervisor of elections contacted me and asked if I wanted a mail in ballot back in June, so I was set to vote in July. If he continues sending them out a month early, I will receive a ballot in early October.

Early voting is your best bet if you can’t get a mail-in ballot. That’s my fall back.

Give the age of the poll workers here, I don’t think that the local supervisor felt secure in his staffing requirements.

i did NOT get all my ducks in a row in time to vote by mail for the primary so i’m just going to have to be careful in traffic for a few more days. i AM planning to vote by mail for the general, unless trump really does end up derailing the post office completely.

i read somewhere that republican senators are getting enough heat from their constituents over this that they might end up backing off just enough (for now). i sure hope so, but if i have to mask up and go stand in line (and stay out of traffic) to vote in november, i will.

in a gallows humor kind of way, i have to admire the wiliness of both trump and the republican party – a mitt romney or a john mccain kind of candidate would never have got this far this fast dismantling all the things we the ordinary people depend on.
