Walt Kelly drew a comic strip, “Pogo”, about a possum who lived in the Okefenokee Swamp. The first time it ran, it was a reference to the McCarthy Hearings and the “Red Scare”. It was re-run in 1970 for the first Earth Day.

Sir Terry opined the end would involve someone finding a big, red button labeled “Do Not Touch” followed by the words “I wonder what this does….”

We live in a suicidal civilization.

We’ve both stated, in varying ways, the obvious… Humans ARE their own worst enemies!! We have both seen this first hand. When Homo Sapiens eventually becomes extinct, I am certain it will be by our own hand. Unless the Universe beats us too it… Always an outside possibility. Especially given that humans are focused on killing Humans, or just rising to the top of the dung heap, than working to survive some external cataclysm. As a species… Homo Sapiens is incredibly short sighted and stupid. 🤷‍♂️🙄

We have people complaining about cats killing birds and ignore the rodent control they provide.

Man keeps killing off the major predators and then complains when the “prey” overrun the environment.

People in Florida worry about the gators and bears that have always lived here and then import iguanas and pythons. The reality is that ships have always managed to arrive with cats and rats on board. Now we have them everywhere.

I post them only because I think you may find them interesting. 🤷‍♂️😊 PS: If you do watch the vid, you can ignore, for the most part, the first bit about the bees. I’ll check them out when things calm down and my governor is no longer trying to spread the virus. I’ve gotten ‘math lazy’ since CPUs got powerful enough to be useful, hell, my phone app renders Π to 14 decimal places before I can type in 4.

I was never fond of ‘parkers & barkers’ – the biggest complaints on graveyards in law enforcement except Friday & Saturday nights.
