Walt Kelly drew a comic strip, “Pogo”, about a possum who lived in the Okefenokee Swamp. The first time it ran, it was a reference to the McCarthy Hearings and the “Red Scare”. It was re-run in 1970 for the first Earth Day.

We live in a suicidal civilization.
]]>We’ve both stated, in varying ways, the obvious… Humans ARE their own worst enemies!! We have both seen this first hand. When Homo Sapiens eventually becomes extinct, I am certain it will be by our own hand. Unless the Universe beats us too it… Always an outside possibility. Especially given that humans are focused on killing Humans, or just rising to the top of the dung heap, than working to survive some external cataclysm. As a species… Homo Sapiens is incredibly short sighted and stupid. 🤷♂️🙄
