Dot’s blinking is the equivalent of Samantha’s sidelong glance at just the right moment; both succeed in avoiding facing the camera at “the decisive moment.” Of course, that “moment” can be a couple of seconds long for a digital camera.

When I pushed the button she was staring at me on the preview screen, but I think I’m going to need either a spotlight or a different camera to ever see eyes again.
It just turned as I finished commenting on Tabitha sunbathing.
