Wow….that’s some angry kitty look going on there.
I’m getting hostile vibes from those two! I bet Tonto wishes that kitten will stop suckling. I remember when we got Bebe, she had been weaning her kittens and was looking forward to them buggering off.. Not a proble as the shelter homed them in a trice.
Actually, Jill, the easiest way to get a quick read on a cat is the pupil size. If the pupil is small, they aren’t overly upset. Large pupils when the light isn’t extremely dim indicates a flight-fight response – the cat is maximizing the view for possible action.
Tonto is alright with me, but the “green eye” of the kitten indicates nervousness. I trip over Tonto often when I come out my back door, and later yesterday she brought the kitten over for the first time because there was still some wet cat food on a plate in the back.
Oh, yes, Jams, the “joy of motherhood” really starts to wane after six weeks.
Adorable! Tonto does seem to have a scowl on her sweet little face. She probably brought her kitten to get some wet food, cause she knows if she can get him eating it, maybe he would FINALLY realize he doesn’t need to nurse. Tonto is quite the smart kitty!
It is Tonto’s white chin that makes it look like she’s frowning all the time. She is actually a fairly friendly cat. The kitten has the same markings.
Yes, she is attempting to engage the kitten in trying the wet food. At this point the kitten apparently thinks it’s too much work.
