Tropical Depression Hermine – Day 3

Tropical Depression HerminePosition: 31.6N 99.5W [10 PM CDT 0300 UTC].
Movement: North [350°] near 16 mph [26 kph].
Maximum sustained winds: 35 mph [ 55 kph].
Wind Gusts: 50 mph [ 80 kph].
Minimum central pressure: 1003 mb.

Currently about 60 miles [95 km] South of Abilene, Texas. The storm has been downgraded to a Tropical Depression and is drenching Texas.

At 10:50PM CDT the National Hurricane Center announced that it had made its last advisory on the storm.

The storm made landfall at about 8:30PM CDT last night in Northern Mexico about 105 miles [170 km] North-Northeast of La Pesca, Mexico and about 40 miles [65 km] South of Brownsville, Texas.

All warnings and watches have been canceled.

Tues. A.M.: no T.S. Hermine here in Houston, of course, but we have lots and lots of rain. I hope it slacks off before Stella has to drive home from work.

That’s the outer edge of the storm. You can see it on the national radar if you animate it. All of the action is on the East side pulling in Gulf moisture. As the storm is moving north it will take a while to clear out.
