You Can’t Make These Things Up…

According to Meg Whitman, former Governor Moonbeam, who is attempting to regain the office of California’s Hippie in chief, is responsible for her employment of an undocumented worker for almost a decade. Since she is obscenely wealthy, obviously nothing can be her fault. 😈

Discussing Rahm Emanuel’s exit from the White House, NPR’s Mara Liasson, a voice of Conventional Wisdom, says it doesn’t matter, because he was part of the team that was needed to steer Obama’s legislative program through Congress, and the White House has done everything it intended to do. Unusually, I think she’s probably correct that the White House has no new projects, because it is time for them to move the 2012 campaign to the front burner.

Arianna Huffington and her closeted gay Congressman husband Michael (who “represented” Santa Barbara area in DC) had the same sort of illegal housekeeper/nanny sort of problem.

I onetime had a boss who had an illegal housekeeper/nanny/babysitter/cook who he literally had trapped in his house. I gave her numerous numbers to call to get the hell out of there. I ended up leaving before she did.

It’s a common occurrence in a certain social stratosphere.

Absolutely, and everyone knows it, Jill. Listening to the West Coast media having fainting spells over this revelation, makes me want to ask them if they would like a visit from la Migra.

They use a few agencies, and those agencies recruit the workers, just like WalMart.

We are having Florida type weather this evening. Muggy. Warm. Heat lightning.
Just waiting to see a ‘gator go ambling by. 😉

Don’t worry, be happy, Jill, because ‘gators don’t like hills. Thunder and lightning are very rare down in San Diego. I only remember one occurrence during the decade I lived there.

We don’t usually get bolt lightning…we occassionally get the light the skys up sort of stuff, but usually with rain involved. Weird, weird weather.

It is definitely unusual and requires a lot of rare circumstances, like the major high pressure area sitting over Colorado and blocking an incoming tropical cyclone going up the Gulf of California, but then, this may be the new normal.

You Can’t Make These Things Up… Unless you are a GOP, Rethug, Fundi, NRA member, Tea Partyer, Dem Politician, to name but very few! 😛 😈 Though, to be fair… in the World the aforementioned groups inhabit (or should that be *inhibit*?), they are known as *Facts*! To the rest of the sane World, they are more fictional than Superman. 😆

🙄

I don’t think that even California is crazy enough to elect Whitman, but we shall see.

Wasn’t Summers expected to be at the White House only temporarily?
Rahm, IIRC, indicated that he was interested in Daley’s position as mayor when Daley made the announcement of his decision to not run for office again. I think that Rahm has a big enough personality to be the Mayor of the Windy City.

I wouldn’t care Kryten, if they would just stop trying to remake the real world into their vision of Dystopia.

Ame, there is no scale capable of measuring the insanity of the voters of California.

Rahm has always wanted to be King of Chicago, but he had to wait until the old King decided he had acquired enough money to retire. It remains to be seen if he is nasty enough to succeed.

Speaking of King of Chicago… 😉

I saw your Prez speaking to a class of totally bored students, and he brought up Jon Stewart’s upcoming Rally in Washington (trying to make light of it, and as with everything he’s done, being completely unsuccessful at it!) 😉

Anyway… How insulting is it to have the Veep telling a bunch of Dem’s to “Stop Whining” and then the Prez follows with “It is inexcusable for any Democrat or Progressive right now to stand on the sidelines in this midtem election… That people are sitting on their hands complaining, is just irresponsible.”

So, apparently, all you Americans who are disappointed that he’s done sweet FA for you, should all be happy about it. Isn’t that nice? Because, you know that in Obamaland… you all should be grateful you have such a magnanimous, fearless, loving leader, and have nothing whatever to be complaining about. Well, unless you happen to be living in the ‘Real World’tm

According to the Prez, he’s achieved 70% of his checklist during the last 2 years! Of course… he never mentioned which check list he meant! 😛

I guess it’s what the Texan’s mean by “All hat, no cattle!” (yeah… I was there!) 😉

Jon did a great couple shows about it on 09-29 & 09-30. 😉

I wish I was able to go to Jon’s “Rally to Restore Sanity” on Oct 30th!! If Colbert’s address to congress (or Senate… whatever!) is anything to go by… the Rally will be huge and a lot of fun! Arianna Huffington is organizing Logistics & transportation! 😉 😆 PS. She makes a lot of sense in her new book. 😉 You should go… really. 😉 😛 😀

We just don’t have any leadership from anyone. Obama’s cult of personality has killed it on the left and the Tea Party has killed it on the right. Demagogues are all that remain.

Obama can apparently read a speech well, but the speeches he reads are empty. Lincoln is considered one of, if not the greatest of American orators, but by all accounts he had a high reedy voice and very awkward body movements when speaking. It is his words that inspired people, because few actually heard him speaking those words.

These days politicians read speeches written by other people, and lack the true conviction that your own words give you. Like the current crop of talking heads on the news, they are giving a performance, not themselves, when you hear them.

I’m tired of going to performances where the band just does covers of other people’s songs.
